Accredited Mediator Skills Training & Certificate in Online Mediation

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

We have been getting a lot of interest in our new online mediator skills training options and have more information available about the structure of our online training.

There are two options for mediator skills training, either (a) over a concurrent five day period as would be the case in face to face training or (b) over a period of two months. In each option you receive not only the chance to achieve full accreditation but also the Hunt ADR Certificate in Mediation and the Hunt ADR Certificate in Online Mediation.

Further details on both options are shown below.

Option A – Training Over One Concurrent Five Day Period: We have the five-day course scheduled to run on each of the following dates.

April 27th to May 1st priced at £750 plus VAT until 1.30pm on Thursday 16th April 2020 at which time the price is £1,500 plus VAT

May 11th to May 15th priced at £1,500 plus VAT

June 15th to June 19th priced at £1,500 plus VAT

This programme follows a similar format to the face to face training but includes some significant changes which are highlighted below.

Day One consists of pre-recorded segments which will be sent to participants in advance of the first day of training, to view in their own time. Each participant will be able to submit questions to the tutor electronically via a live Zoom meeting at a time of day arranged between the tutor and the participant. This means that you do not need to be available all day on the first day of the programme.

Day Two consists of live training and coaching in the arts of communication and other relevant personal skills required to be an effective mediator. Training is delivered by Zoom in your groups and will include online exercises and role plays. You do therefore need to be available all day on your chosen day two – 28th April, 12th May or 16th June.

Day Three consists of pre-recorded segments which will be sent to participants at the end of day two, to view in their own time. Each participant will be able to submit questions to the tutor electronically via a live Zoom meeting at lunch time on Day Three. The rest of day three training is delivered by Zoom in your groups and will include online exercises and role plays. You do therefore need to be available all day on your chosen day three – 29th April, 13th May or 17th June.

Day Four consists of pre-recorded segments which will be sent to participants at the end of day three, to view in their own time. Each participant will be able to submit questions to the tutor electronically via a live Zoom meeting at lunch time on Day Four. The rest of day four training is delivered by Zoom in your groups and will include role plays. You do therefore need to be available all day on your chosen day four – 30th April, 14th May or 18th June.

Day Five consists of your recorded assessments which will be time tabled and you will receive the timetable during your chosen week. Though it is unlikely that you will need to be available all day, you should schedule as if you are required all day on your chosen day five – 1st May, 15th May or 19th June.

Option B – Training Over Two Months

Training over two months follows the same structure as the concurrent five day programme, other than that you can elect different dates to complete each of your days. These can be via participation in any of the dates specified in the concurrent training or on other dates agreed with Hunt ADR.

For example, you can watch the pre-recorded sessions prepared for days one and three at any time*. You can sit your day two on any of the 28th April, 12th May, 16th June or on another date agreed with your tutor, and so on for days three, four and five.

The price of the two month option is £995 plus VAT.

There is a 10% discount for member of Hunt ADR panels and if you are a member of the Institute of Paralegals you will also qualify for the IOP Diploma in Mediation.

To book your place on the concurrent five day programme please email training@huntadr.com or visit the relevant links for your chosen dates below.

If you wish to book on the two month training please email training@huntadr.com.

If you would prefer to wait and train in a physical group with others our next scheduled training is in London in November and you can find out more and book your place here.

Places are already limited for that programme.

*Recordings will be made available from w/c 20th April 2020.
